A Mafia scion believes Rudy Giuliani has dirt on many politicians working around him, and will use it if he’s backed into a corner during the impeachment investigation against Donald Trump.

Giovanni Gambino, an heir of the Gambino crime family, thinks Trump’s personal attorney would quickly flip on colleagues if they started to turn on him – much like he did when he went after the most notorious crime families as a federal prosecutor.

In the 1980s, the former Mayor of New York targeted the Mafia and brought down some of the biggest mob bosses in the city, including Gambino’s father Francesco and the head of the Gambino crime family, Paul Castellano.

Giuliani got the motivation to go after La Cosa Nostra because his father, an Italian immigrant hated that his Brooklyn neighborhood had been overrun and blighted by organized crime.

Giovanni never went into the family business, and instead dedicated himself to writing and his Christian faith. He insists there is no more Mafia, and the FBI only uses the label to mislead the American people.

However, he still remembers how America’s Mayor beligerently went after members of his family and Italians in his community.

He told DailyMail.com: ‘When Rudy Giuliani was a prosecutor, all he did was go after his own kind – Italians.

‘He went after anyone whose last name ended in A, E, I or O. You can’t trust a person that gives everyone a break except his own people.

‘Giuliani knows the power of the criminal justice system better than anyone and he has never used it against dirty dog politicians or in political situations.

‘He used it against citizens. But, if politicians turn on him, he will use his criminal justice skills to fight back.

‘There’s a real swamp in the White House and I do believe Giuliani has a lot of dirt on some big politicians. He most likely collected evidence on some of them when he was working for the FBI.’

Giuliani’s father encouraged his son to go into law enforcement from an early age, and by the 1970s he was the third highest ranking prosecutor in New York’s Southern District.

He then started to take on his own; Italians.

The Sicilian Mafia at the time were at the highest echelon of mob activity in New York and along the East Coast.

Giuliani made it his top priority to take down the American Mafia’s Five Families – Bonanno, Colombo, Genovese, Lucchese and Gambino.

They form The Commission, which to this day is believed to govern organized crime in the US and Canada.

But federal law enforcement and prosecutors made them prime targets in the 1970s and 80s while gang hits were still going on around the city.

By 1984, 350 FBI agents and 100 New York Police detectives were investigating the Mob. At the time, an estimated 1,000 “made” men and 5,000 Mob associates lived in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and elsewhere.

Giovanni’s cousin Carlo founded the Gambino crime family in 1957 when he immigrated from Italy and his father Francesco ‘Ciccio’ Gambino was a leading captain in the syndicate.

Francesco died in federal prison in 2012 while serving a 30-year sentence for racketeering and trafficking heroin from Sicily to the United States.

He was prosecuted by former FBI Director James Comey.

Giovanni was raised by his mother and other members of the crime family while they were under the leadership of the likes of John Gotti and Domenico Cefalu. He is now a screenwriter and author.

In 1985, Giuliani obtained an indictment of a laundry list of mob bosses including Gambino boss Paul Castellano.

A short time after their first court hearing, Castellano was gunned down in Sparks steakhouse in New York.

He is also convinced that many in the Washington ‘swamp’ are out to get Trump.

‘Everyone is beginning to see how the FBI mislead courts. The FBI have misled judges about some Italians for a while.

‘James Comey was one of the most corrupt FBI agents against Italians, followed by Giuliani and William Barr.

‘There’s gotta be a watcher watching the watcher, absolute power corrupts absolutely.’

In the past, he has slammed Comey for using ‘the same lies and corrupted methods’ that landed his father behind bars against President Donald Trump.

‘Comey comparing Trump to a Mob boss is a compliment.

‘Maybe we should have a real mob boss for president. I don’t reject the FBI, but the corruption within, the very same people Trump is getting rid of.’

In Comey’s memoir A Higher Loyalty that was released last year, the axed FBI director said a January 2017 visit to Trump Tower reminded him of the New York Mafia social clubs he knew as a Manhattan federal prosecutor in the 1980s and 1990s – including the notorious Gambino hangout Café Giardino.

It was there in December 1988 that the Comey helped bust Giovanni’s father, Francesco ‘Ciccio’ Gambino, for trafficking heroin into the US from Sicily.

Francesco and other associates were arrested in a 2am raid on Café Giardino, which the Feds had wired with electronic surveillance for months.

Giuliani led the case, with Comey assisting as deputy chief of the Criminal Division.

The prosecutors used the help of informant William Kane, who ran an illegal video poker business out of the Brooklyn cafe on 18th Avenue, and secretly worked with the Feds to infiltrate the heroin ring.

‘No one know that place better than me,’ Giovanni said of Café Giardino. ‘My father was falsely accused and arrested there by Comey and Giuliani.’

‘James Comey used an informer William Kane to manipulate the law, Comey along with Kane used the lies, misleading information to infiltrate and take down innocent people including my father,’ said Giovanni.

Francesco Gambino was sentenced to 30 years in prison for conspiring to import and distribute heroin, and died behind bars in 2012 at age 71, federal records show.

‘William Kane himself admitted latter how corrupted the feds were, blaming them for keeping him on medication and forcing him to lie in trials,’ claimed Giovanni.
